Organisational Management

This may sound really stupid but I am in love with this module, Organisational Management also known as OM. Actually, it is like having common sense. Additionally, this module breaks down this common sense and really knock me awake. Then I start to wonder, why didn't I thought like this in the past? All I can recall was the phrase: If you do not plan, you plan to fail. Well, obviously today's topic is Management Functions; mainly planning and organising.

Those points depicted above are inter-linked.

Get this straight, I am not dumb. I am just blur and absent-minded. Alright. Emotional me is crancking out. STOPPED*

Planning involves:

  • Goals
  • Steps
  • Timing
  • Alternatives
  • Resources
  • Operating procedure

GOALS are critical to organisational effectiveness and it serves a number of purposes such as good guidance, good planning, serve as good sources of motivation and is a mechanism for evaluation and control.

You may question: Why planning is important?

And your answer is: For good management.

This is because planning helps us to offset the effects of uncertainty snd change. It also helps us to be more focused on the REAL objectives. Hence planning helps to make the operations more economical and it aids the process of control.

How to develop a plan?

  1. Set an objective
  2. Develop forecasts and panning premises
  3. Determine your options
  4. Choose your plan, and start to implement it
  5. Go to organising

Organising involves co-ordinating and directing. It also provideds a framework to make the plan work smoothly. Take note that each activity involved have to be logical an realistic.

That all said, I am going to get my dinner. Hope you readers learnt something from this entry.
